Labor

Ranked under Tier 1 by Asia Pacific Legal 500 and one of the highly recommended law firms for Labor by AsiaLaw, our firm’s labor law specialists have extensive experience in all aspects of labor and employment law.

We regularly assist employers in documenting various types of employment agreements. We routinely counsel employers on discipline and employee termination matters and a host of other employment issues, arbitrate and litigate related claims before the National Labor Relations Commission and the courts.

Our labor lawyers have gained expertise over its decades of experience on union related matters such as drafting and negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements with labor unions in the private sector, assisting clients and representing them before the National Conciliation and Mediation Board and the courts in the conduct of certification elections, strikes, lockouts, and other forms of work stoppages by labor organizations, and in handling grievances raised by the union or its members.

A helpful aspect of our practice is our program to conduct an audit of current labor practices and to train managerial and supervisory employees of our clients to assist them in developing a productive work environment that will ensure maximum possible protection against risk for violations of applicable labor laws. Some of the areas covered by our training programs are employee discipline and termination, anti-sexual harassment law, and labor standards.

We also closely work with employers that are at risk of being affected by the continuously changing policies of the state on labor-only contracting.

Our Labor Team is headed by Grace P. Quevedo-Panagsagan, recognized as Leading Individual for Labor and Employment by Asia Pacific Legal 500, Market-Leading Lawyer for Labor and Employment by Asia Law Profiles, and is currently part of the esteemed faculty of the University of the Philippines Law School as a professor on Labor Standards and Relations.
