Competition Commission Increases Thresholds for Mergers and Acquisitions for 2026

In Commission Resolution No. 04-2025 and Commission Resolution No. 02-2026, respectively, the Philippine Competition Commission or PCC modified and increased the notification thresholds for mergers and acquisitions.

(Php3,500,000,000)

Exceeds Three Billion Five Hundred Million Pesos (Php3,500,000,000)


Parties to a merger or acquisition shall be required to notify in compliance with Section 17 of the Philippine Competition Act (PCA) when both the above adjusted Size of Party and Size of Transaction are met. Further, the adjusted threshold for Size of Transaction shall also apply to joint venture transactions.
