Intellectual Property Office's Operations During the Extended Period of Enhanced Community Quarantine

Updated as of 19 May 2020

Manual filing of documents with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), as well as all hearings and mediation conferences, remain suspended until 30 April 2020. The IPOPHL electronic filing and payment system remains operational, but processing of documents filed online shall commence upon resumption of office.

The deadlines for documents such as Declarations of Actual Use, requests for renewal of registration and responses to office actions, and payment of fees such as annuity and filing fees falling due from 16 March 2020 to 15 May 2020, are deemed extended for 60 calendar days from due date.

For trademark and patent applications claiming priority date, online filing must be used to comply with the prescribed period. However, the period for payment of filing fees of applications filed from 16 March 2020 to 15 May 2020 through the IPOPHL electronic filing system is deemed extended for a period of 60 calendar days from the online filing date.
